====== Efficient leveling ======

Even if you say you want to get stronger, isn't there a way to get stronger faster...?\\
This page is for people like you.

===== Prerequisite knowledge: Getting stronger =====

  - Accumulate SP and learn all the skills you want for your future job.
  - In the job you want to become stronger in, accumulate SP rapidly (the amount of SP required varies depending on the method)
  - Once you've accumulated enough SP, use it intensely at the [[fountain_of_wishes|Fountain of Wishes]] to boost your stats.
  - It's complete once you reach level 99 with all stats maxed out.\\

This is a path you'll inevitably take unless you're aiming to conquer the highest level quest areas.\\
This guide shows you what you can do to get there faster.

<span redtext>Also, this page is clearly written from the perspective of someone who is intimately familiar with the game.\\
If you find it troublesome, I strongly recommend compromising to some extent.</span>


===== Newly registered =====

If you've just registered, all you can do is work hard without thinking about anything else.\\
The thing you need to consider here is how much money you have.\\
If you just blindly eat whatevery you want at [[patty_bar|Patty's Bar]], you'll run out of money in no time.\\
Save your money wisely and <span redtext>go to the [[casino|casino]]</span>.

Play on the $1slot machine and wait for a win.\\
This slot machine is easy to win on, and if you keep pressing the button repeatedly, your coins will rapidly increase.\\
Once you've exceeded roughly [the next machine up x 100] in coins, move up to the next machine and repeat.\\
Once you've accumulated 200,000 coins, exchange them for the **ElevatingShoes**.

These shoes are excellent because they give you Exp equal to the number of quest rounds you make it to, x20.\\
With these, your leveling efficiency as a beginner will increase dramatically.

===== Beginner-friendly: Strategy guide to leveling up =====

==== Pros ====

  * <span redtext>Your stats will increase, allowing you to help weaker players and even take on some of the stronger enemies.</span>
  * <span redtext>You don't need to spend as much SP at the [[fountain_of_wishes|Fountain of Wishes]].</span>
  * <span redtext>Since you'll actually be using the job you're training, you'll get a sense of its appeal and fighting style during the training phase.</span>
  * <span redtext>In many cases, you can understand the basic mechanics of the game.</span>

==== Cons ====

  * <span bluetext>It's inefficient unless your stats are high enough.</span>
  * <span bluetext>Improving efficienct requires quite a few things, such as area-of-effect attacks and accident prevention, so it's quite difficult to persue effectively</span>
  * <span bluetext>The key is your stat growth rate; if your MP growth is D, it's a whole different world, but if it's E then it's hell.</span>
  * <span bluetext>For the reasons mentioned above, teamwork is crucial; if you're soloing, you're easily overwhelmed by boss-type enemies.</span>

This is the most reasonable approach, and personally, it's the one that puts me at ease. The most difficult part of this method is securing the necessary stats and skills.

To improve your stats, <span redtext>don't immediately change jobs at level 20.</span>\\
By repeatedly changing jobs at high level, your stats will steadily increase.\\
You can start out changing at level 20, but it's recommended to gradually increase the level to 30, 35, 40, 35, and so on.\\
Once you're able to repeatedly change jobs around level 60, your stats should be stable.

Regarding skill acquisition, the ones I desire are as follows:

==== 1. Area-of-effect attack =====

<span redtext>This greatly affects the efficiency of battles against weaker enemies.</span>\\
While your stats are still unstable, having something like Sage's Boom magic should be sufficient.\\
Once your stats are stable, you'll generally want an area-of-effect attack that deals around 120-160 damage.\\
Anything above 180 is not recommended due to the high MP consumption, except for things like CoinToss...

==== 2. Damage output ====

<span redtext>This greatly affects the efficiency of boss battles.</span>\\
In reality, if your healing is stable, you can substitute whatever you're using as an area-of-effect attack.\\
If your healing is not stable, you should focus on stabilizing it through means other than damage output, so having higher damage output won't change the situation.\\
However, having higher damage output allows for earlier boss defeats, which reduces the burden.

==== 3. HP recovery ====

Something like Midheal is sufficient; if you want more, then Multiheal or Cura would be good.

==== 4. MP recovery ====

Definitely recommended if you're going to be spamming area-of-effect attacks like crazy.\\
If your stats are stable but you're still running out of MP, then either your job's MP is poor or your consumption is high.\\
You'll have to decide on whether to compromise or prioritize MP recovery.

==== Recommended locations ====

|[[strategy:mushroom_forest|Mushroom Forest]]|New characters to those with 2 job changes|Be careful of the MorpheanMushrooms in the boss battle against Treeface, and watch out for prolonged battles.|
|[[strategy:secace_seacove|Secace Seacove]]|HP 100-?|You should prioritize defeating any enemies that use magic, and you might want some healing magic, even if it's just Heal|
|[[strategy:spiegelspire|Spiegelspire]]|HP 150-?|I like to have healing magic like Midheal, and since the boss's Frizzle is strong, I recommend the method of using MagicResist|
|[[strategy:slime_land|Slime Land]]|HP 200-?| Watch out for SlimePharaoh. It's recommended to keep your HP above 200 during the boss battle|

If your stats are stable and you have the ability to revive, you should be stable enough to lead a newbie by around level 30.\\
Once you reach this point, you can just have fun playing and aiming for the level cap.

<span redtext>Although I've written a lot here, don't lose sight of the job you originally desired just so you can level up efficiently.\\
If you can't pull it off, you'll have to compromise, even if doing so is a little less efficient.</span>

===== Intermediate level: Kamikazee =====

==== Pros ====

  * <span redtext>Stats don't play a factor at all, so you can take on any job.</span>
  * <span redtext>The only requirement is that you learn Kamikazee as a Merchant, so preparation is easy once you're a little familiar with the game.</span>

==== Cons ====

  * <span bluetext>The number of quests required to level up is ridiculously high.</span>
  * <span bluetext>The character's stats are poor and they have few skills available since the game assumes repeated job changes at Lvl 20.</span>

Learn Kamikazee as a Merchant and simply use Kamikazee at the start of the quest.\\
Assuming that two enemies appear on average when playing solo, we can calculate the expected value from the instant-kill rate of Kamikazee.\\
You can earn an average of 120 Exp per run in [[strategy:dark_world|Dark World]], and an average of 200 Exp per run in the [[strongest_champion|Strongest Champion]] [[challenge|challenge]].

Since you need 3610 Exp to reach Lvl 20, to change jobs you'll need to do Dark World about 31 times, or Strongest Champion around 19 times.\\
If you try to level up this way, you can't really do anything else, which might be a little lonely.\\
Well, if you get a bonus that increases the number of enemies and then use Kamikazee in Dark World, it'll probably be more efficient...\\
It remains to be seen whether or not that's more consistent than Strongest Champion.

If you have the ElevatingShoes, even Strongest Champion will net you +10% Exp.\\
Could it be that Kamikazee might be the easiest way to reap this benefit?

It's also a good idea to leverage your Merchant status and party up with others as a treasure hunter to earn items.\\
If you're lucky enough to get CelestialReins as a reward, you can reach the maximum level and earn SP more easily.

===== Advanced level: Arithmatician =====

==== Pros ====

  * <span redtext>Incredible metal-hunting ability.</span>
  * <span redtext>While it's likely to be a case of changing jobs early, you might be able to progress further if you work hard.</span>

==== Cons ====

  * <span bluetext>Obtaining the required ScholarsSpecs to become an Arithmetician is a tough challenge.</span>
  * <span bluetext>Specialized knowledge is required.</span>
  * <span bluetext>Compare to other methods, luck plays a very strong role.</span>

This method involves using Arithmatician's xDeath skill to hunt down all the LiquidMetalKing and MetalKingSlime in [[tower_of_the_sorcerer|Tower of the Sorcerer]].\\
Tower of the Sorcerer has a fairly high encounter rate for both, and defeating just one MetalKingSlime will take you from Lvl 1 to Lvl 21.

If you change jobs early, you might run out of MP during battle, so you should be a little careful.\\
Having the HappyHat item will gradually restore your MP when you act, increasing your endurance.\\
However, this method is even more difficult to obtain than ScholarsSpecs, and is probably only possible for advanced players.

Also, if there are any players who can make use of their incredible metal-hunting abilities, they can be sent to [[madame_garden|Madame Garden]] for hunting.\\
If you go into Tower of the Sorcerer with ordinary players, you can even provide training support.\\
However, since this requires specialized arithmetic knowledge, it's difficult to use effectively without the necessary teaching skills and MP management ability.

If you frequently find yourself exhausting your MP, it'd be a good idea to review the [[mpx_method|MPx method]].

===== Advanced level: Morph =====

==== Pros ====

  * <span redtext>If you have a friend who's reached the level cap, you can easily go to Dark World.</span>
  * <span redtext>Since you'll be using various jobs from different players, the player gains Exp particularly well.</span>
  * <span redtext>Depending on the MP growth rate, you can easily adapt to both early job changes and high-level job changes.</span>

==== Cons ====

  * <span bluetext>Coordinating with other players is nearly always required, and sometimes equipment is required. If nobody is available, it's practically a given that you'll have to change jobs early.</span>
  * <span bluetext>You need to secure 50 or more MP after changing jobs.</span>

Coordinate beforehand and use Morph on an ally who has reached the level cap.\\
<span redtext>The stat increases that occur when leveling up exceed the maximum limit, but only during quests.\\
In other words, if your maximum HP exceeds 1000, abnormal status attacks become ineffective. If you maintain your current HP above 1000, even instant-kill attacks become ineffective.</span>\\
This means that you can pretend to be a party member while possessing skills that are truly monstrous and depraved.\\
Use your full power to defeat Satan, collect great treasure, and level up!\\
By the way, if you're able to, I think you should go higher and higher, no just to Dark World.

For solo play, the Strongest Champion challenge is recommended.\\
It's also satisfying to be able to experience a boss-only job that you can't normally choose in the game.\\
However, in any case, you have to wait for a hit, and it's relatively difficult to get into a rhythm, so the efficiency is only average.\\
Provided below is information about the enemies, so use your Morph ability to target the appropriate enemy and have fun.

==== Recommendation level: 0 ===

I don't recommend using Morph on these at all.

It's best to leave on the floor that you used Morph.

==== Recommendation level: ★★★★ ===

<span redtext>OneWingedAngel</span>\\
Basically, using BubbleBomb→JetBlackFlame will obliterate most enemies.\\
Ultima is more powerful, but it consumes more MP and you need to be careful of MagicReflect. By the way, JetBlackFlame is a breath attack.\\
If there's a dangerous enemy in front of you who's building up tension, I'd pray that DarkMeteor will concentrate it's fire on it.\\
BloodRayne deals 200 damage while also restoring 200 HP to you; use it whenever you have the opportunity to heal yourself a little.\\
In short, if you successfully use the Morph ability here, you'll become practically invincible.

===== Advanced level: CoinToss =====

==== Pros ====

  * <span redtext>Leveling is stable and efficient, resulting in less frustration.</span>
  * <span redtext>MP growth rate doesn't matter, even E is fine.</span>

==== Cons ====

  * <span bluetext>Requires sufficient money to use CoinToss.</span>
  * <span bluetext>Power is limited to [[strategy:faerie_forest]]</span>
  * <span bluetext>Fatigue accumulates quickly.</span>

This method involves repeatedly using Samurai's CoinToss in locations like [[strategy:faerie_forest]].\\
You can repeatedly use a 180-damage attack with 0 MP cost.

Fatigue accumulates quickly, but if you consider the several minutes spent sleeping as a break period, you might not get too frustrated. This may depend on your nature, however.

One distinction with this method compared to the Mime and Arithmetician methods are that those ones require MP.\\
That is to say, in this method, <span redtext>you don't need to spend SP to get MP</span>. This is a big advantage.

On the other hand, this method rapidly depletes your money.\\
Because of this, equipping the GoldenChicken item might be better than the ElevatingShoes.\\
GoldenChicken gives you around 50 G per action, which isn't enough, but it's a great help.\\
Since it's still not enough, you'll have to get money from elsewhere.\\
If it's a long battle to accumulate SP and reach the level cap, you might spend around 200,000 G if you earn money through GoldenChicken.

At this stage, among the four methods introduced on this page, this one might be the easiest for leeching (easier to level up with a party).\\
The other three methods assume you'll be going to high-difficulty quest locations, and the Merchant method also has a slight limitation: you can't go to [[StrongestChampion]] with a party.\\
However, since this game has a small player population, it's not a huge advantage. Very sad.

===== Advanced level: Get the 3610+ Exp needed for job change, then suicide.  =====

  - Confuse your allies by using @Call along the way; if successful, a weak enemy in [[strategy:wild_hunting_trail|Wild Hunting Trail]] will use Confuse, allowing your allies to kill your character with the @Attack command. Alternatively, have the summoned monster in a Parry state succesfully parry your attack and self-destruct. Counterattacks are ineffective. All allies present will receive Exp equal to the number of job changes of the character who died. A job change is possible in as little as 2-3 minutes per attempt.
  - It's also fun to hunt and enjoy (mutual) leveling in the [[arena|@Arena]].
===== Time attack =====

I performed a time trial to see how long it would take to change job for the four jobs mentioned above (Merchant, Arithmetician, Mime, and Samurai).\\
Changed job at Lvl 20, all solo. Hope this helps.
